Empty Bowl Meditation
A secular, mindful version of this Aryuvedic meditation, the empty bowl. The open palms of your hands and the pauses during your breathing symbolise empty bowls. After getting in a comfortable sitting or lying down position, we start by observing our natural breath. After approximately five minutes, we start following the path of our breath from outside the nose all the way down to the belly button and then back up. This may sound like a more advanced practice, but I invite everyone to try it.
